Experience

Commissioned Exhibition: ‘Twenty Four Seven’, September 2008 - Indefinitely, Luton & Dunstable Hospital.
‘Twenty Four Seven’ is a four metre wide photomontage commissioned by Luton & Dunstable Hospital to commemorate 70 years of the hospital and 60 years of the NHS. The work showed many aspects of the busy 24 hour workload including over 50 staff and patients. Completing the piece involved liaising with all of the subjects to shoot the piece, as well as to create a Pictorial Key to accompany the montage. I was given and managed the budget for the project.

Exhibition: ‘There are no memories of you here’, October 2007 - January 2008, The Art Gallery, Leamington Spa.
As a finalist in the countywide ‘Art Open’, one image from my series of work which explores the relationship between self, space and the remembrance of someone lost was displayed in the Pump Rooms Art Gallery.

Commissioned Exhibition: ’On the Front Line’, August - September 2007, Brighton Beach, Brighton.
’On the Front Line’ was a project documenting the effects of rising seas on the people and landscapes of three of the lowest lying nations on earth; Kiribati, The Marshall Islands and Tuvalu. It was exhibited on the pebbles of Brighton Beach on three 360 degree structures. I also co-managed the budget for this project.

Commissioned Exhibition: ’On the Front Line’, June 2007, Chameleon Gallery, Nottingham.
’On the Front Line’ was also exhibitedin the Chameleon Gallery in Nottingham as part of Nottingham Trent’s LUX Photography Festival 2007.

Job: Shadow Artist, July - August 2007, Gallery 37 Plus, Newark, Nottinghamshire.
I worked on a one month project with a group of young people, mentoring them from beginners in photography to putting on an exhibition and completing a commission for a nationally published book. Duties included setting up the Apple Mac studio, teaching photographic techniques and training them in Photoshop and In-Design.

Exhibition: ‘There are no memories of you here’, May - August 2006, North Laines Gallery, Brighton.
As competition winner I was able to display one image from the series of work: ‘There are no memories of you here’ as part of ‘The People’s Gallery’.

Competition: ‘Winner’ June 2006, North Laines PhotographyEssence of Brighton and Hove’ Photography Competition. My entry ‘There are no memories of you here’ beat over 600 other professional and amateur entrants to the prize.

Personal Interests

I have a great love for travel and have also self-funded and completed a four month trip around the World as well as almost two months travelling around Europe. These experiences have helped me grow as both a photographer and as a person. My other main interests include sport and music. I played league football from the age of 10 to 16. I also played in the University’s inter-mural league where I was awarded ‘Player of the Season’. I was a member of the Tennis Society and was Runner-up in the inter-mural Squash tournament. I enjoy live music and have been to a large number of gigs and festivals in my spare time. Throughout my time at University, I often photographed and reviewed gigs for the University’s Student magazine, which I found to be a fulfilling way of combining my love for both music and photography. I am competent at using both a PC and Mac, and can use a wide range of programs including Photoshop, In-Design and Dreamweaver.
